after finding inspiration here and here, serendipitously stumbling upon a basketful of doilies at a secondhand store in naperville yesterday, and a $17 excursion to the bead store in roscoe village this morning, i spent the afternoon on my couch, watching oscar nominated movies and making a dreamcatcher to hang over my bed.
are you familiar with the history of dreamcatchers? i used to make these all the time as a kid (and, coincidentally, i don't remember having many nightmares), so i'm excited to have one hanging over my bed again!

Wow, we are on the same wavelength. I just found and hung up my dreamcatcher a couple of hours ago :). Sweet dreams tonight. -Kenz
ReplyDeletei was also inspired by our talk about native american culture! so glad we're still living parallel lives 3 states away. xo.
DeleteThat is so pretty! What a great way to use a doily. These would be great gifts for some of the babies you know...
ReplyDeletei need to find a better way to secure the beads first... if a baby reached for this one, they'd scatter everywhere! no bueno.
DeleteI only meant as an out-of-reach wall decoration, not as a toy!
